I daydreamed about how I would decorate our home for a long time. I flipped through catalogs, put together idea boards, checked out furniture stores and scoured design sites. Then, I finally made some decisions. We have a few antiques to work with, so we wanted a look that would blend nicely.
I decided to go with classic pieces that my husband and I had loved for years. We decided to keep the lighting pretty classic, as well, since fixtures can be a huge investment. I chose pieces from Restoration Hardware. The upholstery is a Belgian linen cotton blend in a flax color. Since they are a custom order, they won’t arrive until November. The tables in both the dining room and living room are the same style and finish, so that the rooms are seamless.
The entry is pretty classic with a pop of color in the paisley rug. For the kitchen, we chose rugged pieces that the whole family could enjoy. I chose an industrial style table with Tolix type chairs and I think it will look great. My sweet husband gave me a new piece from Sugarboo & Co. that really completes the look. I have also included the gear I love to use and some fun decor. We already had this table that we got at Merridian, and I think it will look great in the room.
I love a great deal and I’ll tell you where I found some this summer. I scored big at a Gilt warehouse sale on pieces for these rooms too. In the living room, I got this Micheal Aram bowl for $20, originally $199, and pillows quite similar to these, marked down to $25 from $225! In the dining room, I snagged Caravan napkins similar to these, marked down to $3.50 from $70 for a set of four. I also headed out to the Zappos Outlet on an afternoon and scored this Breville Smart Oven oven for half off! Too fun!
