My husband’s favorite breakfast is french toast, and he knows what he likes. I have played around with different ways to make it and this is the winner! This recipe is fantastic! The clementine and vanilla create a great flavor and wonderful aroma. Baking this dish is simple and makes it lighter! This is a big crowd pleaser at my house!
Serving Size: 4
12 slices of french bread
½ cup milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon clementine zest
juice of one clementine
In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, clementine juice and zest.
Whisk ingredients together until they are well combined.
Soak each slice of bread in mixture and lay the slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the french toast in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes turning the slices over half way through.
Serve garnished with powdered sugar, butter, syrup and clementine zest.
