The Create and Cultivate conference was a really inspiring and interesting experience. The conference is for female entrepreneurs in the digital space. The event was held at the Hudson Lofts in DTLA. The lineup of creative bigwigs was pretty impressive. The keynote speakers were Chelsea Handler, Rachel Zoe and Jessica Alba. There were also some really great designers and bloggers that I wanted to hear from like Bri Emery and Emily Henderson. I was really excited to get advice from the creators of big brands like Alfred Coffee, SoulCycle and Pressed Juicery.
The event began on Friday with a cocktail hour on the 35th floor of the WeWork Gas Tower in DTLA. Taking in the sweeping views of LA was an amazing way to kick off a fantastic weekend. There were Absolut Elyx cocktails and a pretty buffet with yummy appetizers. There was a fun photo booth and great music too!
In the morning, Harper and I registered and we were ushered to the rooftop for a beautiful breakfast. We had zucchini muffins, pressed juice, mini avocado toasts, quinoa salad and more. It was almost too pretty to eat. The rooftop was decorated with hedge walls and chic seating areas.
We loved the amazing succulents and creative booths set up by companies showcasing their newest trends!
There was a VIP Lounge with posh seating and fun decor!
We enjoyed cocktails in the cute cups by DesignLoveFest for Cheeky. There were glam stations for manicures and we made the cutest succulent rings!
This was the main stage where we heard great business advice about how to engage readers and drive traffic. We also learned great tips on working with brands. The day was a long but jam packed agenda. After breakfast and a little browsing, we had two panels, and a mentoring session before lunch. The panelists had a wealth of information to share and great perspectives. We learned about balancing motherhood and career and topics like how to move your brand forward and stay relevant.
We had a lovely lunch on the rooftop. We had really pretty salads from Sweetgreen with arugula, strawberries, feta, mint, pecans and balsamic dressing. There were tangerine mimosas and Sprinkles cupcakes too! After lunch we had two more panels. These included a discussion on raising money and scaling your business and another focused on design and digital. We loved these speakers and found them inspiring!
There was a break before the keynote speakers and we were able to get glam beauty treatments, grab a snack and shop the pop ups. We loved designing a place setting with Minted!
There were a ton of fantastic design elements going on!
We loved this neon and air plant wall! How cool is that!!
After glamming up and shopping we were seated for the best part of the day! First Jessica Alba gave her advice in business and creating a brand. She was encouraging and shared her tips on being resilient and remaining focused. Next up was Rachel Zoe. She was lovely and entertaining and smart! The last speaker of the evening was Chelsea Handler. She was obviously a riot but also really smart and really cool. I was impressed and enjoyed every second! The final hurrah was getting an amazing swag bag! We went home with over $350 worth of swag and we will be pampering ourselves for months to come! We are looking forward to the next event this fall!
