Late Summer Beauty

Late Summer Beauty

Late summer is here and I am savoring every moment. I love long walks in the early evening and country drives. One of my favorite things is watching the butterflies flutter in the woods from my kitchen windows. It really is a beautiful and magical time of year. So let’s talk about late summer beauty.

I have tried a few new items related to a damaged skin barrier and thought I would share. I am loving the Velvet Eyeshadow Palette in Romantic. It has really pretty shades to choose from and you can create a lot of different looks with it. Right now, I am covering my whole lid in the Candlelight shade. I use the Truffle shade in the crease. When I want to add a little smoke to my look, I use the Smoulder shade along the lash line and blend really well.

I also love the Essential Brush Set. It includes the Fan Powder Brush, the Angled Blush Brush, the All-Over Eye Brush, and the Crease Eye Brush. I like the brushes because they contain no animal hair, they are very soft and well constructed and they are really pretty. The Fan Powder Brush is perfect for bronzer, and the other brushes are pretty self-explanatory.

I also tried the Retractable Foundation Brush. I really like this piece. It is soft and really does a nice job blending foundation for a perfect finish. The brush is travel-friendly and would keep your makeup kit clean. Finally, I tried the Lengthening Mascara. This product is an important clean swap for better beauty choices. And as far a clean swaps go, this really delivers. It gave my lashes the length and definition I was looking for. My tip would be to warm the product up by rolling it in between my hands. This softens the carnauba wax and makes for a smoother application.
