This recipe for Chocolate Pots de Creme is fabulous. These are decadent and delicious. These will definitely wow your guests. These would be fabulous for New Year’s Eve or a romantic Valentine’s dinner. They elevate any celebration!

10 ounces dark chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
6 large egg yolks
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
dark chocolate for shavings
Set eight ramekins in a baking tray.
Place chocolate chips in blender.
In a medium pan whisk together egg yolks, granulated sugar, salt, milk, and one cup of the heavy cream. Cook for 5 minutes until mixture is bubbling and almost comes to a boil.
Pour the milk mixture over the chocolate and secure the blender lid. Place a towel over the lid and blend until the mixture is completely combined.
Divide the mixture between the ramekins and chill for at least four hours, until set.
When the custard has set, make the whipped cream.
In a stand mixture, mix vanilla, powdered sugar and one half cup of heavy cream. Mix until the whipped cream forms stiff peaks.
Top each ramekin with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings.
