Chicago Lately

Chicago Lately

This spring we decided to take a weekend break to Chicago! We were thrilled that the weather was warm and there were plenty of fun things to do that we could walk to! We stayed on the Gold Coast at the Ambassador. We’ve stayed there before and like it because the suites are nice and the design is chic.

I have seen this cake shop everywhere on social and  I have been wanting to stop at this Indianapolis hot spot forever! This was the perfect way to break up the drive a bit! The Cake Bake Shop was the most luxe stop for cake and coffee. The shop was adorable, the packaging was super cute and the chocolate cake was phenomenal.

We couldn’t resist taking a pic of the baby and the bean! Taking a stroll around Millennium Park before dinner was a fun way to stretch our legs.

We love Hampton Social! It’s the perfect spot for dinner! The decor is super instagrammable and the menu is great! They have fun cocktails including frose and spritzes, too. We loved the avocado and corn pizza with roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and lemon zest.

It’s spritz season for sure! A walk through Eataly is always fun to check out new ingredients! We stopped here for spritzes and small plates and it was fun and tasty!

At Dylan’s Candy Bar there was a Cotton Candy Artist making the most insance creations! It was too fun to pass up!

There is always great shopping on Michigan Avenue! We love Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, for checking out new beauty finds and cool shoes. We all went crazy over the baby clothes at the Gucci store. The track suits and sneakers are just too precious!

One of my favorite areas is the Gold Coast because the streets are lively and bustling with the clinking of diners and chatter from the sidewalk cafes. On sunny afternoons, there is no place better to be.

After browsing through Barneys and other boutiques we walked down to RH. We always love a stroll through RH and this location is fantastic! We grabbed a glass of champagne and checked out the dreamy furnishings and decor. We finished our afternoon enjoying the sunshine on the rooftop!

The planter game in the Gold Coast neighborhood is strong. I always get some good ideas to take home there!

The next day we picked up some pretty adorable cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery!

We always love stopping by the Lincoln Park Zoo and Conservatory!  The zoo was fun to take a walk through. We always love the Seal Show, the penguins and the Primate House. At the Conservatory there was the Flower Show. I definitely suggest this because the room is so fragrant and beautiful. It is really heavenly!

I am a Serena & Lily lover! I was delighted to look at their shop in the Hamptons a while back and was so excited to check the Chicago shop out. It did not dissapoint. It was airy and light and the furnishings were just a chic as I had remembered. The colors are inviting and vibe is relaxed and refined. I loved the tablescapes as well as the artwork, which included some pieces from Kayce Hughes!

The ladies at Serena and Lily suggested we have lunch at Summer House and it was my favorite meal of the trip.  The interior is really fabulous and the sunny vibe is contagious. We had the house made green veggie burger and it was delicious! We also had the Infamous Goose Sauvignon Blanc. It is the perfect summer white. It is citrusy with hints of grapefruit and would be delicious with a light summer supper.

Shopping in Lincoln Park is fun and there are a bunch of cute shops to check out! We popped into Aesop to grab some Reverence Aromatique Hand Wash. The scent is great and I love the little pumice granules that gently buff your hands. We also checked out Outdoor Voices. I have loved their leggings forever. They have the cutests sets with matching tops!

Cheers to spring travels!
