Smith’s Wild One Birthday!

Smith’s Wild One Birthday!

Our sweet Smith turned one this week. To celebrate, I decided to throw Smith’s “Wild One” birthday party! I cannot believe how fast his first year has flown by. I feel like we have treasured every little moment. He is sweet, energetic and fun. He has just started to develop his sense of humor.

He loves to show his brother and sister that he is “so big!” Another way he keeps them entertained is by playing peek-a-boo. Harper and Jackson find it particularly funny when Smith is only hiding half of his face.

Watching Smith eat is Harper and Jackson’s prime time source of comedy. They think it is so hilarious to watch his reaction to different kinds of food. Watching him have a cake smash did not disappoint! Smith started out being pretty tame with the cake, but by the end, he was up to his eyeballs in icing!!

I loved this cute “Wild One” theme. I ordered these fun invitations to set a fun tone!

Harper and Jackson have become real pros at putting together balloon garlands for me. I think they are pretty and festive! I picked up some extra balloons and this number one balloon at the store.

After watching the Milk Bar episode on the Netflix documentary series “Chef’s Table,’ I knew I wanted to try one of their cakes. This special occasion gave me the perfect opportunity. Believe me, the cake was as delicious as it was beautiful! I was so happy with my purchase! It was a fun way to celebrate our sweet milestone! I topped it with a cute Wild One cake topper that coordinated with the theme!

Since Smith is just one, he thinks the best toys are cereal boxes and he loves to watch the washing machine go! We didn’t really think it was necessary to buy a ton of toys, so we decided on some fun books and a classic ride-on toy. Dan loved these Dada and Mama books by Jimmy Fallon, so we chose those and a couple of seasonal board books! I have loved this Prince Lionheart wheely TIGER for a long time. I think Smith will love it too!

We got a simple cake from the store for the cake smash! After watching him destroy it, I was glad I didn’t make a huge investment!! Another fun detail was the milestone board I had made. It will be a fun keepsake from his first year! Here’s to celebrating every day of the next year!
