Blue Lagoon Lemonade

Blue Lagoon Lemonade

As we near spring, I am looking to feel refreshed and reinvigorated. I had this Blue Lagoon Lemonade at the cutest juice shop in Boulder and thought I would re-create it on my own. It is beautiful, delicious, and has a ton of health benefits. Blue spirulina is rich in nutrients and antioxidants. I thought this would be the perfect post-workout refresher.

We all love a glass of lemonade and this takes it to the next level. It has peppermint oil and lavender oil, which make it refreshing and tasty. I love using local honey, so that is what I sweetened this with. You could use agave nectar to sweeten yours if you would prefer that. This will put some pep in your step and start the day in a great way! You can find more healthy recipes here and here!

Serving Size: Serves 2

2 cups of filtered water

1/2 cup of fresh-squeezed lemon juice

2 tablespoons of local honey

1/4 teaspoon of blue spirulina powder

1/8 teaspoon of peppermint oil

1/8 teaspoon of lavender oil

lemon wedges for garnishing

In a large mason jar, pour in the water and lemon juice.

Add the spirulina, peppermint oil, and lavender oil.

Add the honey and seal the lid of the jar.

Shake the lemonade vigorously, until the honey has dissolved and the spirulina is completely mixed in.

Pour the Blue Lagoon Lemonade over ice and garnish it with a lemon wedge.
